Top 10 Books to Gift a Youth Pastor

As a leader, an important discipline for your life is reading. This is a problem, and ultimately I think it is a spiritual issue. God has called us to be leaders to a group of people living in one of the most critical times of life: the teenage years. Allow them to challenge you and grow your leadership in student ministry. This is an older book that some of you may already be familiar with.

I do however, like to learn. I also want to be continually growing as a believer and as a Youth Pastor. So…I read. I get asked often, what books I would recommend. While there are many books I could and would recommend to you, I have chosen to narrow to five books that you likely have not read and should. Here are 5 books every Youth Worker should read:.

They are great books and sparked some great discussion. As youth workers we should be learners and a consumer of many books. The books that Josh recommends should be consumed, reflected on, and implemented. I am blessed to be in a context with youth workers who are some really great thinkers and avid readers. We used Josh Evans' blog as a jumping off point and came up with round two of books that we think should be read by every youth worker!
