Aperion Audio Verus Grand Bookshelf Speaker Review | AudioholicsAperion Audio in Portland has a well-deserved reputation selling speakers directly to the end user through its website, offering speakers with solid designs and fine cabinetry. The quality of its products paired with terrific customer service has earned the company a loyal following. The compact speaker features a fresh design, beginning with a tapered cabinet and full-face front flange. Its all-new ASR soft dome tweeter looks a bit funky, with its vertical bar, but it is a smooth performer. Aperion pairs the tweeter with a 5. The braced fiberboard cabinet, available in cherry or gloss piano black veneers, is 13 inches tall, 7. The front grilles are held in place by magnets, making for a clean front face that looks just as good with the grilles removed.

To allay customer concerns about buying a speaker system for which no dealer audition is possible, Aperion provides a day moneyback guarantee. This includes shipping both ways in the U. Alaska and Hawaii excepted. Aperion also provides a year transferrable warranty three years on subwoofer amplifiers , with reasonable limitations. Aperion also sent us the very compact Bravus II 12D subwoofer. An Aperion system arrives like a Christmas delivery: Everything is carefully and lovingly wrapped. Move aside the velour and plastic bags which protect the tower , fasten the feet to the speaker, and then turn the box over and slide it up, up, and away, leaving the speaker upright with only the velour and plastic bags left to remove.
Aperion's best known for its spectacular home theater speakers, the Audiophiliac scrutinizes a pair of Verus Grand bookshelf speakers. I've long admired Aperion Audio's Intimus speakers, but for one reason or another, I never auditioned the company's higher-end Verus speakers. The speaker has a 1-inch dome tweeter and 5-inch woven Kevlar woofer. It measures 13 by 7. Aperion Intimus speakers' satin real cherry wood or high-gloss black finishes are superb, but the Verus' gloss cherry is even better. The review samples' finish is on par with what I'd expect to see on speakers that sell for at least double the price.
We'v e been reviewing Aperion Audio speakers pretty much since they began selling speakers online. In that time, they've always managed to produce good-sounding, finely crafted speakers at reasonable prices. Over the years we planted a bug in their ear for achieving higher aspirations. The response seems to be the Verus line of loudspeakers. We were so impressed with their Verus Grand towers that we decided it was time to give the Verus Grand Bookshelf speakers their own dedicated review. Being a fan of quality bookshelf speakers, I personally and quite eagerly took on this task. As with all Aperion Audio speakers, the Verus Grand Bookshelfs showed up well packaged within a single heavily insulated box.
A few days into my evaluation of Aperion's Verus II Grand bookshelves, I sent one crashing to the floor. Rated frequency response of the Verus II Grand bookshelf is , Hz (±3dB); , Hz (±6dB). HTR Product Rating for Aperion Audio Verus II Grand Bookshelf Speakers.

Aperion Audio Verus II Grand Speaker System Review
We engineered the new silk dome ASR to handle frequencies beneath most tweeters. Now the mid-high frequencies emit the same crystalline tones as their counterparts in the penthouse. From the pluck of a violin string to the screech of tires, the result is pure, authentic sound. Bi-ampable is the techie way of saying you can connect one amplifier to the woofer and the other to the combined mid and tweeter. Separating the low- and high-frequency wiring helps eliminate interaction, isolate power and reduce distortion.
