The Care and Keeping of You 1: The Body Book for Younger Girls, Revised Edition by Valorie SchaeferThis book was recommended by my 9yr old daughter's doctor. The book gave my daughter insight as to what to expect as she blossoms from a moth to a butterfly. I recently recommended this book to my daughters girl scout troop so that each girl can be able to grasp their own understanding of how to cope with changes as their grow. If you have or know girls ages I highly recommend this book as a gift for them trust me it will be their treasure. My wife bought this book to help explain the growing process of girls to women. My 9 year old read the book and it helped answer a lot of the questions she was afraid to ask. Now she is more confident with herself, and when we explain something to her, she isn't puzzled why.
The Care and Keeping of You 1: The Body Book for Younger Girls, Revised Edition
I first learned about periods from a cartoon. Just before I started middle school, my mom handed me a large white book with three cartoon girls on the cover, each wrapped in a towel, dripping wet, as though fresh out of the shower. Each page featured smiling cartoon girls of all races and sizes demonstrating everything from how to shave your legs to how to shop for a first bra. As my mom and I read the book together, I remember feeling a little less afraid of what my body would become. But after we finished reading about the difference between training and underwire bras, my mom closed the book. The book, which turns 20 years old in September , has sold more than 5.
