Harry Potter and the Cursed Child
On Thursday night September 5 at around 10pm UK time, the Potter author posted a cryptic tweet alongside a black-and-white image of the stage play's design of the Dark Mark, the infamous symbol of Lord Voldemort and his Death Eaters. Rowling wrote in the tweet: "Sometimes, darkness comes from unexpected places HarryPotter CursedChild". Related: Harry Potter books removed from school due to containing 'real' curses and spells. However, although you might immediately be thinking the Cursed Child movie that's been talked about for ages is finally happening, that is, sadly, definitely not what Rowling is hinting at. Potter fan site Pottermore, aka the "digital heart of the wizarding world", put out a tweet about 30 minutes before Rowling's and shot down any rumours of a film. Given that Pottermore mentioned the New York City production of Cursed Child in its tweet, rather than the London one or any of the others around the world, it's possible that this all only relates to the Broadway play.
