Toddler Approved!: Create a Mommy and Me Book Club {IKEA Soft Toys for Education}

July 17, by cjbookholt Leave a comment. My friend Jolly hosted book club this month and it was fabulous! Gathering Activity: When the kids arrived for book club, we all went straight to the table to make a little 4th of July craft! Kids painted glue onto mason jars and used confetti to decorate them. When all is dry, they can use their jars to store whatever they like at home.

Many women have special relationships with their mothers. But, with someone as famous as Maya Angelou, it is interesting to see how that relationship shaped her life and her writing. The story is also relevant to the Sixty and Me community. Her mother, Vivian Baxter, was not around during her early childhood. As you might expect, the feelings of being abandoned stayed with Angelou for years and ten years passed before they met again. She talks about how love shifts and is redefined in a relationship shaped by this kind of separation and pain. For me, the heart of the book is its focus on the concept of forgiveness.

Cultivating a passion for leisure reading in my children is one of my goals as a mom. At first, you just want them to learn the words and excel in school, but then you realize your job is much bigger than that.
